Aaron Setup
Software EngineerI am a software engineer and owner of Grain & Grove, where I design and create desk accessories made from wood. In my leisure time, I enjoy working on new designs for accessories to enhance people's workflow. As someone who spends a lot of time at their desk and in front of their computer, it's important that my workspace helps me achieve my goals. I began building my desk setup roughly in April 2022. It has changed a lot and gone through many iterations, and is currently in the middle of one (hence the bare walls). I would best describe the vibe of my desk setup as calm and minimalistic. There's not too much to my setup right now, but as time goes on I plan on adding new accessories and brightening up the space with some artwork. My inspiration and goal when building my setup is to create a workspace where my best work happens—somewhere I can happily spend a lot of time thinking, writing code, growing my business, etc. It needs to be clean and free from distraction but also provide a sense of inspiration and curiosity, which I try to achieve through lighting. The item I like the most on my setup is my monitor shelf, mostly because I made it with my own hands, but I also think it looks great. It's made out of sustainably sourced natural materials and puts my monitor right at eye level, allowing me to work longer and more comfortably. I make and sell monitor shelves on my Etsy shop (GrainAndGroveStudio).
